Our Community Supports JDE!

Picture
The Jones Dairy Elementary PTA is dedicated to fulfilling the National PTA’s mission which is: "To make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children."  In an effort to help support that goal, we are continuing our corporate sponsorship program for the 2022-2023 school year.

Your support will help us provide the school with valuable resources and support, while also providing local businesses with an additional way to gain exposure within the Wake Forest community through our parents, teachers, staff and families. I
f you'd like to become a community supporter or sponsor of JDE, please contact the PTA at ptaatjde@gmail.com  We look forward to a great  school year with supportive community sponsors like you!

After School Programs

The Kerr YMCA offers Before and After School Programs onsite at Jones Dairy! Students expand their learning beyond the classroom with a balance of curriculum opportunities for character development, STEM activities, arts and humanities, community service and physical activity.

A new homework program has been implemented during after school!  Each child will be asked to do 20 minutes of homework Monday-Thursday.  If they do not have homework, they will read for 20 minutes. With this new program, you may still ask that your child complete his or her homework in its entirety if it takes longer than 20 minutes.  The reason behind this change is just to give all of the kids a solid span of time where it is quiet and they can really focus on their work.

Visit the YMCA's website for more information or to register.
Bow Time on Wednesdays (instruction on violin, viola, or cello - starting a beginner class now).  More info and online registration is available here.

The YMCA Camp Kerr Track Out Camps give kids the opportunity to explore new activities, make new friends and build memories that last a lifetime. From silly games to projects designed to explore the world around them, Camp Kerr will excite and engage your child. From fun field games, to archery and swimming, our counselors use activities and camp experiences to teach values like caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith in God. Camp Kerr is located at the Kerr Family YMCA and is open to campers in rising grades K-8. Visit the YMCA's website for more information or to sign up!

The Granite Falls Swim and Athletic Club Track Out Camps are fitness-focused, full-day camps for kindergarten through 5th grade students.  Each week, campers will enjoy fitness activities, special KidsFit classes, visits to the Main Street Park, and education with friends – all centered around a daily theme.  Every week will include daily swimming lessons and recreational swim time as well!  For more information about their current camps, contact Susan Bayer at 919.562.8895, or visit Granite Fall's website.

The Hope Lutheran Xplore program offers safe, local, religious-centered camp on teacher workdays, school vacations and track-out camps.  Campers have fun with friends while playing games, enjoying outdoor sports, taking nature walks and getting crafty with food, art and science.
